John Lewis, Jr. is Senior Managing Compliance and Global Anti-Bribery Counsel
for The Coca-Cola Company in Atlanta. In this role, John leads all compliance programming
for the Company’s North America business operations consisting of approximately 70,000 employees.
Globally, John also serves as the Company’s subject matter expert on the Foreign Corrupt Practices
Act and related anti-corruption laws and regulations. Prior to his current role, John functioned as
chief litigation counsel where he managed the team responsible for disputes, internal and government
investigations and related counseling in the 200+ countries where Coca-Cola does business.
Prior to joining Coca-Cola, John practiced in Kansas City, Missouri, where he maintained an
active civil trial and was a federal court-appointed bankruptcy trustee, and a court-appointed disciplinary
hearing officer where he heard and rendered disciplinary findings against Missouri licensed attorneys facing
bar complaints.
Outside of his duties at The Coca-Cola Company, John served for five years as a member of the Atlanta Board
of Ethics, including three years as its Chair. He also served as a member and ultimately as Vice Chair of the
Board of The Coca-Cola Company Family Federal Credit Union (personnel and loan committees). John currently serves
as a member of the Board of the George Washington University Law Alumni Association and as chair of The Coca-Cola
Company Legal Division Diversity Council, which is actively designing and implementing a diversity strategic plan
for the legal function.
John earned a B.A., cum laude, in Economics from Morehouse College and a Law Degree from The George Washington
University National Law Center.
