Charlie organized Private Bank of Buckhead and its holding company, Private Bancshares, Inc.,
and the bank opened its doors to the public on December 11, 2006. He began his banking career
25 years ago with Bankers Trust Company. He spent 10 years with Bank South, where he held
various management positions in retail, commercial and private banking. Charlie started The
Buckhead Bank as a division of Milton National Bank in 1996. Following the sale of the bank,
he started Riverside Bank of Buckhead in 2001.
In our fourth year of business, Private Bank of Buckhead remains focused on providing our
clients with access to bankers with decision-making authority who are fanatical about the level
of service we deliver, Charlie says.
He has undergraduate degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and The Wharton School of
Business, and received his MBA from Georgia State University. Charlie is a graduate of the LSU
School of Banking, the Buckhead Leadership Development program and Leadership Atlanta (Class
of 2005).
He is a Director of the Buckhead Coalition, and is on the Board of the Georgia Tennis
Foundation, the Atlanta History Center, the City of Atlanta Board of Ethics, and the Atlanta
Track Club. He is currently serving as Assistant District Governor for Rotary District 6900 and
is a past president of The Rotary Club of Buckhead. Charlie and his family live in Buckhead.
