Marcus E. Bromley has over 20 years of experience
in the real estate industry, ranging from his roles in finance and development
in the private sector to his role as CEO of a large public real estate
company. As CEO of Gables Residential, Marc led the company to a public
offering and then served as Chairman and subsequently Trustee through
its $2.8 billion sale to ING Clarion in 2005. Prior to taking Gables
public in 1993, Marc was a division partner for the Southeast operation
of Trammel Crow Residential. His division developed more than $500 million
in apartment properties from 1982 through 1993.Marc’s real estate experience also includes financial roles at The Sea
Pines Company (Amelia Island, Florida), and he serves as a Director
of Cole Property Trust, a newly formed retail REIT based in Phoenix,
Arizona. In the past, Marc has served on the Advisory Board for The
Shoptaw Group, the Board of Rescheck, and The Advisory Board for the
School of Commerce, Economics and Politics at Washington and Lee University.
He also is a past president of the Atlanta Apartment Association, and
he currently serves as director of Nancy Creek Capital, a private equity
fund.
Marc is a 1971 graduate of Washington and Lee University with a degree
in Economics and a 1973 graduate of the University of North Carolina,
where he received his M.B.A. degree.
