Melanie Funk is a Personal Banker with Private Bank of Decatur. She addresses all client needs across all functions of the bank, and has
additional responsibilities in community relations.
Melanie previously spent more than three years with Decatur First Bank, and has 20-plus years of experience in business operations,
including marketing and superior client service. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Georgia Southern College.
Born in Kapit, Malaysia, where her parents served as United Methodist missionaries, Melanie and her family moved to Decatur in 1971
where she attended City of Decatur schools and graduated from Decatur High School.
Active in the community, Melanie has served on the board of the Decatur Business Association, co-chaired that group’s Concerts Committee,
and was co-chair in 2009 of the Decatur Education Foundation’s Low Country Boil – one of the organization’s primary fundraisers. She also
has served as community volunteer with the Decatur Book Festival, the Decatur Beach Party and the Decatur Beer Festival, and is a parent
volunteer at Decatur High School. Melanie enjoys the great outdoors, traveling, and is an avid fan of her two daughters, a collegiate soccer
player and a Decatur High School Bulldog cheerleader. Melanie resides in Decatur.
